In short: the app collects no data and talks only to your own servers. This website stores access data anonymously.

The Lagath Link app

No personal data is transmitted to the developer or to third parties. The app requires no user account and contains no advertising, no analytics or crash reporting, and no third-party components.

Lagath Link connects your Mac to network shares on servers you enter yourself. To do so, the app opens network connections only to these servers and signs in there with the user name and password you provided.

If you wish, Lagath Link searches the local network for computers offering shares (the “Servers on the Network” window). The app only listens for computers announcing themselves on the network; it doesn’t connect to any of them and sends nothing. macOS asks for your permission first.

Stored on your Mac are: the list of servers and shares, the user names and your settings. Lagath Link keeps passwords in the macOS keychain, not in a file. This information doesn’t leave your computer — except when signing in to your own servers. When you remove a server in the app, it also deletes its password.

The app runs in the macOS sandbox. Its permissions are limited to the outgoing network connections it needs to connect to your servers and — only if you allow it — read access to the “Volumes” folder. It uses that solely to open connected shares in the Finder; it doesn’t read any files.

Usage data

To improve the quality of these pages, data about each access is stored for statistical purposes. This record consists of

• the page from which the file was requested,
• the name of the file,
• the date and time of the request,
• the amount of data transferred,
• the access status (file transferred, file not found),
• a description of the type of web browser used.

This data is stored anonymously, which rules out the creation of personal user profiles. The website sets no cookies and embeds no third-party content.

Contacting me

When you write to me, I process your details in order to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. Messages are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed and no retention obligation applies.

Your rights

You have the right to ask which data about you is stored and for what purpose. You may also have incorrect data corrected, and have data deleted whose storage is unlawful or no longer necessary. You further have the right to restriction of processing, to data portability, to object, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
